The AT-9 was not easy to fly or land making it suitable for teaching students the more demanding flight characteristics of more modern aircraft like the B-26 Marauder and P-38 Lightning.

It has a span of 60" and was powered by a pair of OS .40 4-cycle engines anf flew in controline scale competition. It now resides in the Pima Air museum in Tucson Arizona. The model is one seen readily on the net and has T-58 on the sides of the fuselage.
